I wanted the overall look of Claudia to be realistic in portraying a psychopathic character. I had researched and thought about what make-up would look best for her. I decided to keep her base make-up very natural so that the attention is not drawn from her psychopathic self. I then added a small amounts of red and purple in the inner corner of the eyes and under the eye. I incorporated this feature into my design because I felt that it showed tiredness as well as her starting to become mental from her new love of torturing people and horror films. I then splattered blood across her face to show the effects of what she had done to Mrs Laderman. This would therefore then connect the two characters. This worked perfectly on the face and looked really realistic. I kept the hair very natural and down, however at the front of the head I added glycerin which acts as sweat as well as a small amount of blood that as fallen in the hair. I think this worked really well and added something extra to the entire look. In the photograph I also had her holding a bandage which would be used to torture and keep Mrs Laderman as a hostage.
I am really pleased with how the entire look photographed and looked. I was apprehensive about Claudias make-up in particular because I wanted her to look like a psychopathic killer. I wanted the fake blood to look as realistic as possible, therefore I knew that I had to apply this randomly to the face. I kept trying to make this look even on the face, however I had to keep telling myself that it needed to look random. I applied more to some areas that others to achieve this. The word that I used for Claudia was awakening. This is not that visible in the photograph, however it features more in her storyline, as her love or revenge and torture awakens. To connect the two characters, I photographed her holding the bandage that can be seen around Mrs Ladermans neck. If I were to complete the look again I would possibly add more interest to the hair, however overall I am really happy with the final look.
