Assessment: Continuity Notes

HAIR
- comb hair and part into side parting
- Apply small amount of wax to begin with and pull through hair making sure it's even spread through
- Adding in small amounts will help as you can always add more
- Adding the wax to the hair will help keep it on the side parting therefore pull through hair in the direction you want it to go
- Add talcum powder onto side parting by asking model to tip their head to the side
- Ensure the scalp looks completely white to match the skin colour
- Add onto all of hair and evenly spread it out to give a grey effect
- Make sure to place powder on the back of head but ensure that it is focused on the front of the head and the powder gets right to the root (ask model to lift head back)

MAKEUP
- remove any powder that has fallen from the hair onto the face
- Apply matte primer - Illamasqua
- Using spatula, apply wax from the back of hand in small amounts
- Ensure it is spread as evenly as possible and apply more in the centre where cut will be made
- Make sure the edges are as smooth as possible to the skin
- Position cut just in from where the eyebrow starts and pull down to where it just about ends. Pull the wax slightly outwards to create a wider cut
- Using a sponge apply latex over all of the wax and onto the skin to make it as blended as possible and then dry using a hairdryer until clear
- Apply Illamasqua translucent powder over the latex to remove shine and then apply the Illamasqua white skin base all over the face
- Ensure the white is blended thoroughly all over the face and especially over the cut and around the hair line. Use a smaller brush around the eyes
- Apply a small amount and blend as much as possible and then add more
- Cover the ears using a small brush and apply to the front and back of neck. Bring it down lower just to make sure there is not a gap between the skin and the shirt
- Using a mascara wand place this same skin base into the eyebrows and use back and forth motions
- Once complete, begin creating the cut. Apply a red/pink supracolour over the cut and around it using dabbing motions
- Create a darker red and apply nearer to cut
- Add a yellow toned colour and blend
- On the cut mix together red and black and apply - this will make the cut look more realistic. Apply this shade into the cut as well
- Using the wound filler place this into cut - the more applied the better
- Add the blood over the top and dab around the cut
- Once complete begin on the eyes and apply a red colour across the whole eye. Use a blending brush and apply in the crease. This will help to spread the colour evenly. Apply this under the eye as well using sweeping motions
- To darken the eye add a purple shade into the crease and blend evenly as well as bringing this down under the eye. Ensure you have bought the colour down under the eye as much as possible
- To deepen the eye again add a blue into the crease using a smaller brush to make it more defined. Adding just to crease will mean the previous colours are still visible
- To finish add a dark black to the crease on top and blend all colours
- To finish add the red liner under the eye and blend slightly
- Add dark blue onto the lips in the corners and bring slightly below the lip
- Over this apply a red colour and blend the two to create a purple shade in some areas
- Using a small brush apply the black under the cheek bones, under the chin and slightly down the neck. Blend this out using a small brush. To help blend add some of the white base onto the brush. Ensure that the cheeks are even
- Examine look and perfect any areas that you may not be happy with

Ask model to put on white shirt and then photograph
